EZULWINI– The 2024 Diva’s Concert promises an unforgettable celebration of powerhouse talent, bringing together a stellar lineup of “soul sisters” who have made significant impact in both music and poetry.

When reached for comment, Thembinkosi Mthethwa shared with this publication that this year’s event is a tribute to women in the arts, honoring their contributions and showcasing the strength and diversity of female voices.

According to Mthethwa the festival is known for its tradition of highlighting influential women, the Diva’s Concert continues to be a vibrant platform that celebrates and empowers women in the entertainment industry.

“This year we present to you Zoe Modiga, born and raised in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, is the quintessential artist who represents the present and future of South African music.” She draws from the human experience, identity and storytelling, she creates a distinct sound to communicate a modern, evolving African story without losing its essence.

As a lively, transcendent performer with a background in classical and jazz training, she is known to enchant audiences into another world while having an evocative individualism in fashion and imagery.

Dzelisile Mdluli Lekgowe! A celebrated poet, playwright, and voice for women’s stories, Dzelisile has been captivating audiences since 2007, sharing her journey through powerful pieces on gender, mental health, and empowerment. From the Bushfire stage to her acclaimed solo shows, and even the big screen alongside stars like Vivica A. Fox and Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dzelisile’s artistry knows no bounds.

Tengesihle Mimi Gwebu, a Swazi-born soprano with a gift for astounding you through music, has graced some of the biggest stages, including Standard Bank Luju Festival and Bushfire. Her passion for opera shines through every performance, ensuring each note tells a powerful story.

Rina Mthethwa’s vocal prowess and genre-blending style have captured hearts across borders. From the soulful depths of Rhythm and Blues to the uplifting tones of gospel and the vibrancy of pop, she effortlessly weaves magic through every note. Her remarkable journey began with a leap of faith in the MTN Spotlight competition, where her talent shone bright and her following grew. Since then, she’s continued to rise, taking her artistry to new heights in the U.S. with specialized vocal training.

Buhle Matsenjwa, an inspiring Gospel minister and dynamic performer, to the stage at the Divas Concert at Happy Valley Hotel! Born and raised in Macetjeni, Buhle’s deep-rooted passion for Gospel music has touched hearts across Eswatini and beyond. From her unforgettable journey as the runner-up in the Eswatini Gospel Music Talent Search in 2019 to her recent live recording at Mavuso Exhibition Centre, Buhle has shown the power of dedication and faith in her music.

Beezae: An acclaimed poet and storyteller, Beezae is known for her thought-provoking performances that dive deep into the human experience. With a voice that has resonated at Makoti Festival, Poetas Dalma, and even TEDx, she captivates audiences with a seamless blend of personal and universal themes. Beezae’s talent has earned her nominations for the prestigious SWAMA and SMA awards. Beyond her performances, she uplifts young artists through workshops and campaigns.

Leebombo: once a secret gem in the background, is now capturing hearts as a solo artist. Her debut, Ngigcwele, brought raw emotion and spiritual depth, while her follow-up, Yebo, beautifully explores the journey of timeless love. Each track reveals a piece of her soul, inspiring listeners to embrace their true voice.

Lindelwa Shirley Tsabedze, known to fans as Mvelo, will take the stage! A powerful voice and an inspiring journey mark her path from her start as the lead vocalist of Tribe New in 2018 to her solo journey in 2019, making it to the top 7 of MTN Spotlight, to even sharing the stage with Sjava in Mbombela!Mvelo’s sound, influenced by jazz and house, is as captivating as it is unique.

Fresh Talent:

Hailey Thomas! Born and raised in Manzini, this multitalented singer, songwriter, and rapper is ready to light up the stage with her electrifying mix of RnB, pop, and hip hop. Syd Known for her raw and unfiltered sound, Hailey captures everything from love to victory, with every note taking us through emotions of pain, loss, and triumph.

Stella Jacobs will be taking on the stage at the Divas Concert on December 8th! Known for bringing a unique fusion of soul, Afrikan trap, hip hop, and Afro pop, don’t miss this epic delivery! From winning MTN Bushfire Firefly and performing on stages like MTN Bushfire Festival and Maletsunyane Braai Festival, each performance is a new journey.
