MBABANE – A three-year celebration!
Local comedian Mduduzi Dlamini, a.k.a. Mdura, and DJ Cybos (Sibongiseni Lukhele) are set and excited for tonight’s (January 30, 2025) show, marking three years since the inception of Throwback Thursdays N Comedy.
The show will be held at 23:28 Lounge (Checkers Business Park) and is scheduled to kick off at 8 PM. Entrance is free, as confirmed by the owner and CEO of 23:28 Lounge, Thembinkosi Mthethwa.
The event will feature the dynamic duo Mdura and Cybos, alongside the talented Gongking. Comedy lovers are in for a treat.
When reached for comment, Mdura reflected on the journey that led to this milestone. He said, “We started this journey in January 2022, and it’s been an incredible ride ever since,” shared the comedian.
The event has garnered immense support from the venue, spearheaded by the owner and the dedicated staff at 23:28 Lounge, who have played a pivotal role in its success. Over the past three years, Throwback Thursdays N Comedy has evolved into a cherished platform for local comedians to showcase their talents and connect with audiences.
Mdura emphasized that the intimate atmosphere has developed due to the loyal following of regular attendees. While he acknowledges the challenges of hosting weekly shows, he views them as opportunities for growth.
The vision behind Throwback Thursdays N Comedy has always been to foster a vibrant comedy culture within the community. “We aimed to create a platform for comedians to try out new material and provide a space for people to relax and enjoy some good comedy,” Mdura shared.
