MBABANE – Professional golfer Nobuhle Damini is among the first golfers to tee-off first in the Lalla Meryem Cup, taking place February 6-8, 2025.
Dlamini will be in the third batch alongside Spaniard golfer Carmen Alonso and Marta Sanz Barrio at 8:50am at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam (Blue Course), Morocco. This tournament marks the kick-off of the Ladies European Tour (LET) 2025 season.
The tournament is back for its 28th edition and will once again see the field compete for a €450,000 (About E8.7 million) prize fund. Nobuhle Dlamini who is based in South Africa but born in Lobamba, Eswatini is among the over 108 golfers from all over the world who will playing.
According to the ladiesuropeantour.com, the stacked 108-player field is made up of 11 invites and 97 LET players including two LET Order of Merit winners, Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini (2024) and Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab (2023).
There are players from 34 nationalities including five Moroccans set to play on home soil; Ines Laklalech, who carried her nation’s flag at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Maha Haddioui, Lina Belmati, Malak Bouraeda, and 15-year-old Sofia Cherif Essakali, who is the youngest player in the field.
The field also features past champions Klara Davidson Spilkova (2017), Nuria Iturrioz (2016, 2019), and England’s Bronte Law (2024), who will return to defend her crown.
