MBABANE– Today marks the release of Sancheziey new album titled Umshado waSancheziey.
Local artist Sancheziey is set to release his latest album, ‘Umshado waSancheziey,’ this today (January 24, 2024.)
The album, which translates to ‘The Wedding of Sancheziey,’is a heartfelt tribute to love and commitment, drawing inspiration from the artist’s own romantic journey.
When reached for comment Sancheziey born Mkhuleko Mangwe said, “No matter how stained love is, but, it’s a beautiful thing and one who has it blossoms like trees in summer especially if he or she found the right one.”
According to the artist, his love life served as the primary inspiration for this masterpiece. “As much as it’s not personalised to ensure it resonates with everyone, all in all, it is a fusion of deep love affections from a guy or husband to a girl or wife,” shared Mangwe.
The album, consists of five songs, is designed to cater to couples celebrating their wedding day. Sancheziey explained, “The theme being a wedding day, the entering of the groom or the bride, the bridesmaids, and groomsmen. The saying of the vows, symbol of Oneness, actually all you can think of from a wedding day.”
The artist revealed that ‘Umshado waSancheziey’ will evoke memories and feelings associated with weddings, whether they are upcoming or have already taken place. Musically, the album promises to be a hit and inclusive, appealing to both older and younger generations. Sancheziey noted,
“The sound there is anthemic with a vision to accommodate everyone; the older generations and the now generation as there are songs that are fashionable.” The tracks, primarily in SiSwati with some English elements, include titles such as ‘Nhlitiyo yami-Nganelisiwe Medley,’ ‘Sifiso Sami,’ ‘NgiReady,’ ‘Ndlunkhulu,’ and ‘Siyabonga God.’
The artist worked with notable producers like Bengura from Ubuntu Soundscape, Tus Mvuleni, and BlackWolf, who helped shape the album’s eclectic mix of Afro Pop, traditional trap, classic, and soulful gospel vibes.
He added, “This masterpiece is just all from Sancheziey’s genius creation with no much of help or assistance from outside besides those mentioned about,” he remarked. The production of ‘Umshado waSancheziey’ was overseen by Ariel Empire, with various collaborators contributing to the album’s diverse sound. Sancheziey expressed gratitude for the creative journey, stating, “It was an easy and beautiful creating it as I was just taking every line from what is or was happening in my love life at that time.”
