STAGE SET FOR TINKHUNDLA TALENT SEARCH CROSS-COUNTRY NATIONAL CHAMPS

MBABANE – The country’s best in cross-country will be known on Saturday (November 39, 2024) during the Tinkhundla National Talent Search Athletics National Championships.

The event will be held at Mavuso Sports Centre, starting at 8am. The athletes to be competing in the events are those who won from the regional competitions held under the Lubombo, Manzini, Hhohho and Shiselweni regions.

The Athletics Eswatini (AE) released the over 100 names of the athletes that will be competing including the boys and girls under-20 and same with under-15.

“Join us for the National Championship finals. The stage has been set. We are ready to identify our national champion. Spread the word and let’s celebrate talent and athleticism together,” reads a statement from AE.

The event is also supported by the Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC) under the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs.

The winners on the day will be presented with cash prizes, trophies and medals under a sponsorship package of E450 000 from the E2 million that was released by the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs and the Athletics Eswatini (AE).

“Athletics Eswatini is thrilled to reveal the qualifiers for the National Championships, taking place this Saturday. These talented athletes have earned their spots through hard work and determination in the regional competitions. Now, they will compete for national glory. We invite all athletics enthusiasts to come and cheer for the best talent Eswatini has to offer. Let’s make this event a memorable one,” said AE.

The Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs launched the Tinkhundla National Talent Search competitions that also featured an Under-20 football tournament, arts and the athletics.
