MBABANE – Vusi Hadzebe and Sikhatsi ‘Jikeleza’ Dlamini secured crucial victories to go level at the top the MPC Master (Over 50 years) Singles League standing.
The games were played at the Manzini Pool Club on Sunday (July 28, 2024).
The league sponsored to the tune of E12 000, has only been underway for a few weeks and is already providing plenty of drama and anticipation for the matches ahead. As the battle for the championship glory continues, Vusi Hadebe and Sikhatsi Jikeleza Dlamini are likely to contest for the championship glory as they are tied at position one and two respectively, accumulating 27 points with 10 games played in the league.
Each Showcased remarkable performances, with Hadzebe securing victories against Scelo Langwenya (7-4) and Sydney (7-6), while Jikeleza triumphed over Two Meter Mgabhi (7-0) and Innocent (7-3). Their achievement highlights the level of the competition and dedication within this age group.
The weekend’s matches also featured notable performances from other seasoned players. Romeo Da Sivla dominated with 7-0 and 7-2 wins against Joe Lukhele and Innocent. David Masuku edged out Innocent in a closely contested match 7-6 match, While Ellie Nyoni secured two 7-5 wins against Sydney and Joe. These results emphasize the competitive spirit and camaraderie that define the MPC Masters League.
