MBABANE – The country gave a resounding performance at the end of XX Africa Aquatic Zone IV Swimming and Open Water Championships in Windhoek, Namibia.
They brought home nine medals in total with Luca Fraser leading the way with three medals, two bronze medals, and one gold medal. Chadd Ning won two medals, a gold medal and a bronze medal while Hayley Hoy brought home three gold medal and one bronze medal.
The country was represented by 18 swimmers in the competitions that started on December 4 ending on the 8th.
14 countries participated in the event, and the Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) was impressed with the performance of the team. Most swimmers were debuting to compete in a long-course swimming pool.
ESA also celebrated new Personal Bests for the swimmers.
The team was led by Coach Mxolisi Mpanza and Assistant Coach Sherlley-Ann Hoy-Willmott with Saleveni Ndzimandze being the team Manager.
Meanwhile, the team also had Mark Hoare who officiated during the competitions. ESA also praised Eswatini Sport and Recreation’s Business Development Manager Zama Tsabedze who graced the team in Windhoek Namibia with his presence.
