MBABANE – Minister of Agriculture Mandla Tshawuka has opened veterinary offices worth E800 000.
The Mbulungwane Veterinary Offices were opened yesterday (Thursday, July 25, 2024) at Mbulungwane, near Hlathikhulu, in the Shiselweni Region. The offices are situated under Methula Constituency.
According to information from the Ministry, this new facility will benefit livestock owners across five Tinkhundla constituencies, which include, Methula, Sigwe, Ngudzeni, Sandleni, and Hosea. Over 1 300 livestock farmers from 21 dipping tanks within these constituencies will now have easy access to veterinary services.
There will be no more long-distance travel for such essential services. During the opening ceremony, the Minister encouraged farmers to make use of the new facilities.
“Farmers are encouraged to keep stock cards and visit this office frequently to update their stock records. As a farmer, ensure your animals, which are an asset, are registered properly in your name. This will avoid the frustration of waiting 14 days to update records before moving animals.”
