BUFFALOES LADIES BOW OUT OF CAF/ COSAFA WITH HEADS HIGH

MBABANE – It was a brave outing for Young Buffaloes Ladies who were knocked out of the
CAF Women’s Champions League/COSAFA Qualifier by South Africa’s University of the Western Cape today afternoon (Thursday, August 22, 2024) in Malawi.

Buffaloes, who reached the semi-finals for the first time after three attempts, lost 6-0 against the South African Football Association (SAFA) Women’s Top Tier League side.

Buffaloes went to half time training 0-2 after conceding in the 9th and 26th minutes. The
University of the Western Cape then scored four goals to make the score 6-0 in the second half to bury the local’s dream of making to the finals.

Buffaloes Ladies are the first team in the country to reach the semi-final stage of the tournament, with Manzini Wanderers having been the first team in the country to compete in the qualifiers.

Buffaloes, who were making their third appearance in the tournament, left a mark, as they won a match for the first time and also reached the last four of the tournament.
