EOCGA BOARD JOINS COMMONWEALTH SPORT MOVEMENT IN KENYA

MBABANE – The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Maxwell Jele and sustainability intern Mazwi Maxwell Dlamini are Mombasa, Kenya.

Jele has joined fellow members of the Commonwealth Sport Movement from Africa and Europe in Mombasa, Kenya, for the 2024 Commonwealth Sport Regional Meeting while Dlamini is attending the a week long equip workshop where he will meet with other interns from the Commonwealth the year 2024.

Part of the meeting is the Commonwealth Sport President Chris Jenkins who was in the country with the Executive Board last week. Other delegates include CEO Katie Sadleir and Director of Development Ellen Barwise, among others.

Approximately 30 countries are represented at this gathering including Eswatini.

“This meeting serves as a platform for Commonwealth Games Associations (CGAs) to exchange ideas on sports development and the significant social impact that the Commonwealth Sport Movement can achieve.

Additionally, it will emphasize the vision for a ‘reset and redefined’ Commonwealth Games, discussing how the 2026 Games will be a crucial initial step towards creating a co-created, adaptable, and sustainable future for the Games,” reads a statement from EOCGA.
