MBABANE – The action continues with Shukuma Eswatini, an initiative powered by the Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC).
Following the programme’s success in the Siphofaneni Inkhundla last Saturday, it now shifts to Zombodze Emuva in the Shiselweni Region. This event, aimed at promoting sports and healthy living across the nation, is scheduled for Saturday at the Zombodze Emuva Inkhundla, starting at 8am.
“You are invited to the Zombodze Emuva edition of Shukuma Eswatini. Join us at the Zombodze Emuva Inkhundla from 8am for a day filled with activities that promote good health,” stated a release from the ESRC.
The event will commence with a 10km walk, followed by a variety of sporting activities. Participants can look forward to engaging in numerous sports, including athletics, table tennis, cricket, rugby, martial arts, tug of war, egg races, netball, and teqball, among others.
The Inkhundla is poised to reap benefits from the programme, similar to those received by Siphofaneni. The Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs has assured the Siphofaneni Inkhundla that facilities, including toilets at their sports ground, will be constructed as part of the initiative, and similar enhancements are anticipated for Zombodze Emuva Inkhundla.
Additionally, the ESRC has generously donated food parcels to seven underprivileged community members during their visit at Siphofaneni.
The Shukuma Eswatini initiative is supported by officials and administrators from the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, and it welcomes all community members, including individuals with disabilities, the elderly, youth, and children.
