MBABANE – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has left the country Botswana and Azerbaijan.
The prime minister left today (Thursday, November 7, 2024) through King Mswati III International Airport. The premier’s first stop will be Botswana, where he will represent His Majesty King Mswati III and the entire nation during the inauguration ceremony of new Botswana President H.E Duma Gideon Boko.
Boko, who is a leader of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), is expected to be inaugurated tomorrow, according to media houses from the SADC countries. He has won the elections last week, toppling former President Mokgweetsi Masisi and his Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), which has ruled Botswana since its independence in 1966.
The Prime Minister will then proceed to Baku, Azerbaijan, for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29). This year’s conference will be held under the theme: ‘Investing in a livable planet for all.’
