ESWATINI SWIMMING ANNOUNCED 19 SWIMMERS FOR AFRICA AQUATICS IV CHAMPIONSHIPS

MBABANE – The Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) has announced a team of 19 swimmers who will represent Eswatini at the upcoming Africa Aquatics IV Championships 2024.

The event will be held from December 4-8, 2024 in Windhoek, Namibia and will feature 14 countries from across the African continent.

The Eswatini team is dominated by swimmers from the Swim Lab Swimming Club and includes several experienced and accomplished athletes.

They include Hayley Hoy, Eswatini’s outstanding junior swimmer who won the Regional Annual Sports Awards (RASA) Junior Female Sportsperson of The Year award, Simanga Dlamini, Simphiwe Dlamini, Chadd Ning, Damien De Sousa, Tiano Fraser, Pedro De Sousa, Luca Fraser, Tsailin Barbosa, Nosmilo Dlamini.

The team is rounded out by Aimee Willmott, Sibo Mthethwa, Bahle Simelane, Kendra Macnamara, Daniella Nunes, Danika Wilsch, Rachel Dlamini and Leah Dlamini.

This will be the first time since 2019 that Namibia has hosted the prestigious Africa Aquatics Championships.

The 14 competing countries include Eswatini, Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Eswatini Swimming Association recently hosted the Griffin Swim Club Gala 2 on Saturday, showcasing the country’s strong swimming talent. ESA has been successful in representing Eswatini well at regional and international competitions.
