MBABANE – Sitselo Semphilo Ezulwini Private Hospital (EPH) has reached a remarkable milestone by achieving the prestigious Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa (COHSASA) certification, a globally recognised hallmark of healthcare excellence.
The announcement was met with optimism across Eswatini’s healthcare circles, solidifying the hospital’s place as a leader in healthcare standards within the region.
In a statement, Minister of Health Mduduzi Matsebula hailed the achievement as a moment of national pride.
“EPH’s accreditation is not just a testament to its dedication but also a source of assurance for emaSwati that their healthcare needs are being met efficiently and cost-effectively,” the Minister said.
He extended congratulations to the hospital’s board, management, and staff, emphasising their unwavering commitment to excellence.
“This milestone is a remarkable achievement, underscoring the hospital’s unwavering commitment to delivering safe high-quality healthcare services to emaSwati and beyond,” he said.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Board, Management, and staff of EPH for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Your achievement serves as an inspiration not only within the healthcare sector but across all industries, reminding us of the importance of striving for excellence in service delivery for the betterment of our nation.”

This recognition places Sitselo Semphilo Ezulwini Private Hospital among an elite group of institutions evaluated against 4,000 evidence-based standards. COHSASA’s stringent process, accredited by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), ensures that only top-tier healthcare providers earn its seal.
COHSASA, a not-for-profit organisation based in Cape Town, has supported healthcare facilities across 14 African countries for over 25 years. Its standards, accredited by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), are designed to ensure healthcare organisations meet the highest benchmarks of safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. By meeting these standards, EPH has joined a distinguished league of healthcare institutions committed to excellence in service delivery.
