MBABANE – EBet Eswatini has pledged its support for the upcoming Mbabane Crossover Event with a generous E18 000 sponsorship aimed at uplifting the elderly in the Mbabane community.

The announcement was made during a press conference at the Mbabane East Inkhundla Center, where event organizers underscored the show’s dual purpose of entertainment and social responsibility.

Speaking at the event, Nobanzi Shongwe from EBet Eswatini’s marketing department reaffirmed the company’s dedication to charitable initiatives, emphasizing that the sponsorship funds will be used to purchase food and toiletries for Mbabane’s elderly residents.

“We are delighted to contribute to a cause that directly benefits vulnerable members of our community. EBet Eswatini remains committed to extending our support beyond this event,” Shongwe said.

Event Highlights

The Mbabane Crossover Event, scheduled for December 31 at the Prince of Wales Sports Grounds, promises a memorable day filled with activities to entertain and uplift the community. According to Philani Maswati Chairperson Lutfo Dlamini, the event will feature:

  • A daytime fitness session led by South African trainer Nkhululeko Dlamini, sponsored by Shukuma Swaziland.
  • An evening of live performances by both local and international artists.

Performers include award-winning gospel artist Sipho Makhabane, alongside crowd favourites such as Mduduzi Ncube, Linda Dlamini, Sbu the Drum DJ, Nothando Dlamini, and Shiba and the Travellers.

Community Engagement

Philani Maswati has been proactive in promoting the event. A recent visit to the Msunduza main market saw the organization encouraging local vendors to participate by booking stalls to sell food at the Crossover Show. Demonstrating their commitment, the organization purchased breakfast from over 15 women vendors, providing an immediate economic boost.

Dlamini thanked Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Indlovukazi, for her unwavering support of EmaSwati and the elderly, while also calling on companies and individuals to support the event by purchasing tickets, booking stalls, or sponsoring activities.

“This event is a pivotal opportunity to raise funds and assist Mbabane’s elderly, who often lack the agricultural resources available to their rural counterparts,” Dlamini explained.

Platform for Upcoming Talent

Phindile Maziya, Mbabane East Indvuna Yenkhundla, praised the event for offering a platform for upcoming artists from Mbabane East and West to showcase their talent. She also highlighted the unique challenges elderly residents face in urban areas and stressed the need for prioritizing their welfare.

Maziya expressed gratitude to the Municipal Council of Mbabane for supporting the initiative.

Tickets and Support

The event has received significant backing from sponsors, including EBet Eswatini, Shukuma Swaziland, Global Village, and Taste of Africa.

Tickets for the Mbabane Crossover Event are priced at E100, giving attendees the chance to enjoy a day of fitness and music while supporting a vital cause.

As December 31 approaches, organizers, sponsors, and local vendors are working hand in hand to ensure the event’s success and its positive impact on the lives of Mbabane’s elderly residents.
