MBABANE – Anything that is sinful or against the law should be avoided at all costs during this festive season, because it can result in death.
This was said by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini today, December 24, 2025 in his Festive Message to the nation. The prime minister quoted the Bible book of Romans 6:23, which warns about sinning, as it results in death.
Romans 6:23 states, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” In this verse, according to AI Overview, Apostle Paul is reminding people that eternal life is a gift from God, not something that can be earned by humans. Paul is asking people to consider which life they want to live: one of sin and death, or one of righteousness and eternal life.
Making his address, the prime minister said the festive season included the Christmas Day, which was a day of commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. He viewed this season as a time of happiness and coming together to thank God for having been able to protect the nation from any possible harm. “We thank God for the peace that we have as Emaswati this year. This is the time for families to be together and show love to one another,” the prime minister.
He reminded Emaswati that this is the time of giving, as human beings were also given a free gift of life. “Let us avoid sin, as the Word of God states in the book of Romans 6:23, where it states that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Therefore, we should flee from sin,” the prime minister said.
The premier advised members of the public to ensure that they acted responsibly, as they enjoyed the holidays. “Avoid drinking alcohol excessively, gender-based violence (GBV), killing, and committing suicide,” he said.
In conclusion, Dlamini also wished a merry Christmas and a happy New Year to His Majesty King Mswati III, Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, local and international tourists, and the entire nation. “May God bless us all. Thank You,” Dlamini concluded.
