LONHLUPHEKO – KaLanga Chief Jozane Maziya encouraged the youth and other members of society who might want to turn around their financial affairs to be proactive.

Maziya stated this on 6th March 2025 at KaLanga Gateway, a shopping complex situated at Lonhlupheko, just outside Siteki. Maziya is the owner of the establishment.

The chief said what usually let the underprivileged people down was that they always looked for excuses for not their unfortunate financial state of affairs. The chief, who is also a senator, advised the youth to always look for opportunities because they were always available. It was a pity, according to the chief, that such opportunities were usually taken by people who were from far away countries, right in front of Emaswati.

The senator even made an example of a hardware shop at the KaLanga Gateway, saying there were opportunities of people who could transport hardware products for customers at the shop. Unfortunately, he had not heard of anyone approaching him to take advantage of that opportunity.

He said there were many opportunities of a similar nature around the country and they were waiting for people to take advantage of. Maziya is of the view that everyone in this world is rich. To unlock the riches, one had to get an education, be hard working, and be respectful. He clarified that if it became difficult for a person to be educated, the way out of a financial mess was to be hard working and be respectful.

That was not to mean that an educated person should not be respectful. Chief Jozane said with hard work and respect, a person could go far because there wouldn’t be a reason to fire that person from a job. He said as an employer of that person, he would not let go of such a person even if they were to reach 60 years.

He would simply let that person do some supervisory jobs because he would not lose important values such as respect and experience of that person. Maziya said he had been working on the gateway project for the past 28 years, but he had started constructing the buildings six years ago.
