EFA UNVEILES NEW WHEELS FOR NATIONAL TEAM, A MERCEDES MARCO POLO BUS

MBABANE – The National Football team, Sihlangu left the country for their FIFA World Cup against Cameroon on new wheels.

The pre-owned Mercedes Marco Polo bus was unveiled on Monday when the team bid farewell, travelling to Mbombela Stadium, South Africa for the match. Eswatini Football Association (EFA) President Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane unveiled the bus to the nation during the farewell function at the Lobamba Technical Centre.

EFA bought the bus after one that was a donation from the FIFA World Cup held in South Africa was burnt during the time of political unrest in the country in 2021. Since then national teams including Sihlangu, Sitsebe and the development teams including under-20s and 17s have been forced to hire buses.

Also present to witness the unveiling of the bus and bidding farewell to the squad was Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima, Principal Secretary (PS) Prince Mlayeto.

Sihlangu will play Cameroon at Mbombela Stadium in the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday at 6pm. They will against be back in action on Sunday (March 21, 2025) against Mauritius. Match billed for Mbombela Stadium.
