MBABANE – The Eswatini Medical Christian University (EMCU) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Lutfo Dlamini Foundation ahead of an entrepreneurship training programme aimed at empowering the nation’s youth and aspiring business leaders.

The university confirmed the partnership earlier today, expressing its full support for the Foundation’s upcoming one-day intensive summit scheduled to take place at Phongolwane SDA Primary School Hall on Friday.

The event, which runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, is designed to equip participants with practical tools for building, sustaining, and scaling successful enterprises.

EMCU Registrar Sebenta Menon, speaking in an interview with Eswatini Positive News, said the institution was excited to align with a programme that speaks directly to youth empowerment, economic independence, and educational advancement.

She further urged young people to attend in large numbers, emphasizing that they stood to benefit from life-changing knowledge and opportunities.

Menon stated that EMCU’s involvement was rooted in its commitment to not only provide academic education but to also inspire youth to become job creators—particularly in the health and medical sectors.

“The summit will bring in a lot of youth to motivate them as future leaders and entrepreneurs. EMCU wants to be there to encourage the youth to further themselves in education, especially in medical-related fields,” she said.

She added that EMCU would have a dedicated stand at the event, where the university’s programmes and learning opportunities would be showcased.

“Our aim is to encourage youth to consider starting businesses even after pursuing medical studies. We believe entrepreneurship and education can go hand in hand,” Menon explained.

The entrepreneurship summit forms part of the Lutfo Dlamini Foundation’s broader mission to address the urgent need for entrepreneurship education in Eswatini.

The Foundation’s founder, Hon. Lutfo Dlamini, described the event as a life-changing experience tailored for individuals ready to shape their economic destinies. He said the initiative was particularly focused on youth and women in rural and marginalized communities.

“As a country, we must stop waiting for opportunities and start creating them,” Dlamini was quoted as saying. “This training is about equipping our people to become job creators, not just job seekers.”

The summit will feature expert facilitators, including academic strategist Professor Mudarisi, South African sustainable agriculture expert Monica, and health marketing and agribusiness entrepreneur Lesi Nxumalo.

Participants will delve into a range of topics such as business ideation, legal business registration, proposal writing, health sector marketing, and opportunities in agribusiness—specifically mushroom, banana, and vegetable farming.

Dlamini also revealed that InstaCash would be part of the event and encouraged attendees to bring their National ID cards, as the fintech partner had prepared a special activation for participants.

He praised EMCU’s participation, describing the university as a key stakeholder in the academic development of the country’s youth. “We are excited to bring this important institution to the village where we all come from. This partnership represents our collective effort to unlock the potential within our communities,” he said.

The Lutfo Dlamini Foundation, a non-political and non-governmental organisation, continues to play a leading role in promoting economic empowerment and sustainable development, with a strong focus on nurturing entrepreneurship in underserved communities.
