EZULWINI – Happy Valley Hotel & Resort turned up the charm on Sunday, serving moms a buffet lunch bursting with flavour, music and love.

Mother’s Day was celebrated in style as families gathered for a sumptuous meal that offered more than just good food, it delivered a full-course celebration of mothers and memories.

True to its top-tier hospitality status, the Ezulwini-based hotel pulled in a full house for the occasion, with tables buzzing with laughter, clinking glasses, and the sound of music floating through the air. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Mdzimba Mountains and framed by the hotel’s lush gardens and poolside views, the setting was just as indulgent as the food on offer.

Guests were treated to a delectable buffet featuring a variety of local and international dishes, hearty mains, fresh salads, and decadent desserts. The atmosphere was warm and lively, with mothers being waited on like royalty while enjoying the family-style spread.

Hotel representatives shared that the aim was to honour mothers with an experience that combined flavour, festivity and flair. “We wanted to give moms a day off, no cooking, no stress, just pampering and joy,” one staff member noted.

But the day was not just about the food. A raffle draw added an exciting twist, with several lucky guests walking away with fabulous prizes. The grand prize, an overnight stay for two at the hotel, was met with delighted gasps, while others claimed dinner, breakfast, and Sunday lunch vouchers as first, second and third prizes.

In a heartwarming twist, many of the winners were children, whose names kept popping up in the draw to the crowd’s amusement. The excitement was infectious, especially among families who had come in full force to celebrate their leading ladies.

One of the prize winners, Sibonelo Dlamini, said she was over the moon to win a Sunday lunch. “I came with my mom and my sister’s mom. We just wanted to treat them to something special, and this just made the day even better,” she said, beaming.

Guests were also treated to live music that set the tone for a relaxed afternoon. Mothers could be seen sipping cold beverages by the pool deck, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere and the thoughtful service.

“This is what Mother’s Day should feel like, elegant, joyful and meaningful,” one guest was overheard saying while helping themselves to a second helping of roast chicken and basmati rice.

By late afternoon, the buffet may have ended, but the memories made were clearly here to stay. Happy Valley Hotel once again proved that when it comes to serving hospitality with heart, they have got the recipe just right.
