MBABANE – South African award-winning gospel sensation Jumbo is set to headline the highly anticipated Biggest Braai Gospel Sunday, which will take place on 27 July 2025 at the Mavuso Exhibition Centre.
This groundbreaking gospel event will feature 23 Eswatini gospel artists, including legendary acts like Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved Group, Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors, Linda Dlamini, Mzwakhe Myeni, Insali KaJehova, and Ndoni, among others. The show will run from 10 AM to 10 PM.
The Word of God will be delivered by Pastor Shodi Msibi of the Free Evangelical Assemblies and Pastor JV Mazibuko. Adding a special touch to the event, Village Bakers will sponsor a grand cake-cutting ceremony for couples celebrating their wedding anniversaries on the day.
The Gospel Sunday is part of the larger Biggest Braai Festival, a multi-day cultural and entertainment experience kicking off on 24 July 2025. The festival will open with a Khoisan Schools Exhibition at the Mavuso Trade Centre, sponsored by the Eswatini National Trust Commission and Imisebe Publishers. Schools from across the country will gather to learn about the Khoisan (Bushman) tribe, offering history students a rare opportunity to experience history firsthand. The day will be spiced up with car spinning and music specifically tailored for the student audience.
On 26 July, the excitement continues with the main braai session, where over 3 000 fire points are expected to be lit. The day will be packed with kids’ games, meat-eating, car spinning, and nonstop entertainment from morning until the following morning.
Philani Maswati Chairman, Lutfo Dlamini, highlighted that this year’s festival will be cashless, with ticket holders receiving preloaded cards to make all their purchases during the event. While he held back on revealing the headline artist for the 26th, he confidently stated that this year’s show will be “bigger and better” than ever before.
ACAESWA President, Dr. Mzwakhe Myeni, echoed this sentiment, assuring fans that performers will come “guns blazing” and deliver unforgettable gospel performances. He encouraged all Emaswati to come in their numbers and be part of this historical festival.
