HLUSHWANE PRIMARY DEFEATS 9 SCHOOLS IN MINI-CRICKET FESTIVAL

MBABANE – The Eswatini Cricket Association (ECA) is thriving in introducing the sport in schools, especially primary.

Hlushwane Primary School emerged the winners of the Mini-Cricket Festival that saw 10 schools under the Lavumisa Cluster of schools participating in the festival. The festival brought together young cricket enthusiasts for a day filled with sportsmanship, camaraderie, and thrilling matches. The 20 schools showcased their cricketing talent and passion for the game.

According to a statement from ECA, Hlushwana Primary School displayed exceptional skills and teamwork throughout the competition.

The teams from Nsubane, Lavumisa, Mlindazwe, Mthonjeni, Mgampondo, Phumelela, Faith Eternal Academy, Nkuntjini, Hlushwana, and Nsalitje 1 Primary School also put up commendable performances, demonstrating their dedication and enthusiasm for cricket. The young participants thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the festival.

ECA said the festival not only served as a platform for healthy competition but also as a means of bringing the community together in support of the future cricket stars.

ECA appreciates the participation of all the schools involved and acknowledges the invaluable support of the local community in making the event a grand success.

“As the day drew to a close, the spirit of sportsmanship and unity was palpable among the participants, who celebrated each other’s achievements and friendships formed on the cricket field. The festival created lasting memories for all involved and left a positive impact on the young cricketers, inspiring them to continue pursuing their passion for the game,” reads the statement.

ECA is looking forward in continuing to promote the development of cricket among the youth in Eswatini.
