MBABANE – A sharp-eyed police officer’s vigilance this morning has led to a major victory in the fight against stock theft in Eswatini.
At around 7:15 AM, five men aged 46, 45, 43, 33, and 29 were caught red-handed near the Mkhondvo River by the #SidvokodvoPolice after being found with two freshly slaughtered cow carcasses. The suspects were intercepted while washing their white Ford van, which had been loaded with the stolen meat, close to Tri-Cash.
The swift response came after an officer, who happened to be passing by, noticed suspicious activity and immediately alerted Sidvokodvo Police. Quick coordination ensured the suspects were promptly apprehended.

It is believed that the livestock was stolen and slaughtered in the Masini, Dvumbe, and surrounding areas. Police have since confirmed that one of the suspects is a repeat offender, previously arrested by Lubulini Police for similar crimes.
The arrest marks a significant breakthrough for the Royal Eswatini Police Service (#REPS), as stock theft continues to challenge farmers nationwide. This decisive action not only brings suspected offenders to justice but also sends a strong message that the protection of farmers’ livelihoods remains a top priority.
