SITEKI- Bandora DaDj, spins unforgettable beats that unite every crowd.
At just 27, Bandisi Dlamini, famously known as Bandora DaDj, has cemented himself as one of Eswatini’s most loved DJs. While he is a qualified Safety Officer by profession, Bandora made a life-changing decision: to choose music over everything.
“I used to look up to my big brother,” he recalls, “He was the most loved and popular person at Simunye. Watching him inspired me to become who I am today.”
Bandora’s journey behind the decks began in 2016 at the Mhlume pens down party, hosted by Mhlume High School students at Tingwenyeni poolside. That night marked the beginning of a career that has since grown into a powerful name in Eswatini’s entertainment scene.
Known for his unique taste, Bandora describes his style as old school blended with maskandi, a fusion that sets him apart and keeps crowds entertained across generations. “It depends on the event and the people I play for,” he explains. “Playing for 2K’s can never be the same as playing for a mature crowd.”
One of his unforgettable moments was performing at Imbawula Festival in Pretoria, an opportunity he says he will cherish forever.
As someone deeply invested in the growth of local music, Bandora believes DJs play a crucial role. “They bring communities together, and that’s good for vast networking,” he says. He adds that it is fulfilling to see more people acknowledging local concepts and supporting homegrown talent.
He encourages aspiring DJs to take the industry seriously: “Consulting before you take part in this music industry will help you understand what you need to pull through.”
Surprisingly, Bandora is not just about the turntables. “I’m a Safety Officer by profession. I’ve been in the construction scene for two years,” he shares. Outside of work and music, he also plays instruments in church, showing his versatile love for sound and rhythm.
When asked which track always lights up his sets, he quickly responds: “Keri Hilson ft Kanye West & Ne-Yo – Knock You Down.”
Proudly from Siteki, Bandora says what makes him unique is simple: “People just love me as I am.” His humility, authenticity, and ability to connect with diverse crowds continue to earn him respect and admiration across Eswatini and beyond.
