MBABANE— MulaSport has stepped forward with a historic E4.5 million sponsorship for the National First Division (NFD), marking the first time the league has secured its own dedicated corporate partner.
The landmark three-year deal, unveiled at the elegant Sibane Sami Hotel, promises to transform the landscape of the country’s second-tier league.
The atmosphere was vibrant as football officials, club representatives, and key stakeholders gathered to celebrate this milestone. The Under Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Mzwandile Mthethwa, emphasized the profound impact this sponsorship will have on the development of football in Eswatini.
“Your investment in this league is a strong vote of confidence in the potential of Eswatini football and its people. You have chosen to walk alongside us in empowering our youth, uplifting communities, and giving our players a chance to shine,” said Mthethwa.
For years, the NFD relied indirectly on the MTN Premier League for support. Now, with MulaSport’s sponsorship of E1.5 million per season, the league stands independently, stronger and more visible than ever. This partnership represents more than financial backing; it is a commitment to growth, excellence, and youth empowerment.

The NFD has long been the breeding ground for Eswatini’s future stars, producing many of the nation’s celebrated footballers. With MulaSport’s support, clubs will gain access to improved facilities, enhanced training programs, and greater exposure, creating clearer pathways to the Premier League and beyond.
Mthethwa concluded by urging collaboration among all stakeholders to fully leverage this investment.
“Your partnership goes far beyond financial support; it is a commitment to nurturing dreams and building a stronger, more professional football ecosystem. We value your belief in Eswatini’s sporting vision and applaud your leadership in demonstrating how business and sport can grow together for national progress,” he said.
As the new season approaches, MulaSport’s E4.5 million investment is set to usher in a new level of professionalism and competition within the National First Division, empowering players, inspiring communities, and strengthening Eswatini football for generations to come.
