MBABANE– Internationally acclaimed Amapiano star Uncle Waffles, born Lungelihle Zwane, has been announced as the headliner for Nkomazi Fest 2025, set to take place on 24 December 2025 at KaMhlushwa Stadium.

The announcement was made by festival organisers, Goat Energy, who described the upcoming edition as a celebration of music, style, and summer energy.

Uncle Waffles, widely known as the “Princess of Amapiano,” has risen from humble beginnings in Eswatini to become one of Africa’s most recognised DJs and performers. Festival organisers said her electrifying performances, viral dance moves, and international tours have made her a symbol of the new African sound making waves globally.

For Nkomazi Fest, Uncle Waffles will be joined by South African chart-toppers Nasty C and Lloyiso, organisers confirmed. Nasty C, the award-winning rapper, and Lloyiso, noted for his soulful pop performances, are expected to provide a mix of Amapiano, R&B, and Hip-Hop alongside Uncle Waffles’ headline set.

Ticket prices were announced as E150 for general admission, E450 for VIP access, and E100 for cooler boxes, with entry restricted to patrons aged 18 and above. The festival is supported by a coalition of partners including Goat Energy, SAB, Coca-Cola, SAMPRA, and Computicket.

Organisers highlighted that Uncle Waffles’ headlining role is more than a performance; it represents a homecoming for the Eswatini-born artist. Despite being based in South Africa, her success continues to inspire young Swazi creatives, demonstrating that talent nurtured in small towns can achieve global recognition.

In recent years, Uncle Waffles has performed across Europe, North America, and Asia, including appearances at Coachella and Paris Fashion Week, earning acclaim for her energetic sets and fashion-forward stage presence. Festival organisers said her return to the southern African summer circuit for Nkomazi Fest marks a “poetic, full-circle moment” under the December skies.
