MBABANE- Hot on the heels of Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini’s strong assurance that the nation will be safeguarded throughout the festive season, the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) has intensified its pursuit of two wanted suspects linked to separate armed robbery cases in the Shiselweni region.
The Shiselweni Serious Crimes Unit, together with Hlathikhulu and KaPhunga Police, is searching for Sanele Nhleko (41) and Sanele Ngwenya (42), both from Sithobelweni. Investigations have placed the duo as suspects in different high-profile robberies involving large sums of money.
According to police reports, Sanele Nhleko is wanted in connection with a 2 November 2023 armed robbery, where a 34-year-old man was ambushed and robbed of E68 000 while transporting his employer’s money to the bank. The attackers were allegedly armed with pistols. Police confirm that one of Nhleko’s alleged accomplices has already been arrested, signalling progress in the investigation.
In a separate incident, Sanele Ngwenya is sought for a 16 November 2023 robbery in kaMbhoke, where a woman was allegedly robbed of E45 000, believed to be stockvel savings. Out of the four suspected perpetrators, two are already in custody, as police continue to close in on the remaining individuals.

This intensified manhunt mirrors the national commitment to public safety following the Prime Minister’s declaration yesterday that law enforcement agencies will heighten visibility and responsiveness to protect citizens from criminal activities during the festive period. The swift follow-up actions by REPS demonstrate the government’s dedication to ensuring a safer environment for all Emaswati.
The police are appealing to members of the public to assist by providing any information that could help locate the suspects. Community cooperation remains vital in sustaining the positive strides made in crime prevention.
