MBABANE – Pupils who previously visited KaSchiele High School in search of learning spaces are encouraged to return, as places are still available.

This was confirmed by KaSchiele High School Headteacher, Ms Nokuthula Mbatha.

She made the remarks on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, during a visit by the Minister of Education and Training, Honourable Owen Nxumalo, who was accompanied by his team from the Ministry of Education and Training.

The KaSchiele Principal informed the Minister that KaSchiele High School is a fully fledged four-year programme. She explained that the school conducts admissions at Grade 8 level and that teachers made a concerted effort to admit prospective learners immediately after the Grade 7 results were released.

She said the school targets five Grade 8 classes each year; however, this target has not yet been reached. According to Mbatha, the school experienced some disappointment due to the low turnout of learners who had been admitted.

“After admitting 198 Grade 8 learners, only 109 reported to the school,” she said.

She appealed to the Minister to assist by encouraging parents and learners to consider KaSchiele High School as a viable option for quality education. Mbatha noted that delays in filling classes consume valuable time that could otherwise be dedicated to teaching and learning.

She further explained that learners who have completed Form 3 elsewhere may also be admitted into Grade 10 at KaSchiele, depending on availability of space. This, she said, was part of the school’s effort to ensure that no child is denied access to education due to placement challenges.

Mbatha emphasised that the school does not discriminate against learners based on academic background. She said KaSchiele High School believes that every child deserves an opportunity to be educated.

“We do not have a problem with the type of learners we admit,” she said. “We believe that all children should be educated, regardless of their previous performance or background.”

She added that KaSchiele High School remains committed to providing a supportive learning environment where learners can grow academically, socially and personally.

The Minister welcomed the update and reiterated Government’s commitment to ensuring that all learners are placed in suitable schools. He encouraged parents and guardians to respond positively to calls from schools with available space, noting that access to education remains a national priority.

The Ministry continues to work with school administrators across the country to ensure a smooth start to the academic year and to address challenges related to learner placement, infrastructure and staffing.

KaSchiele High School has therefore urged parents and guardians who are still seeking placement for their children to approach the school as soon as possible, as spaces remain available for eligible learners.
