LOBAMBA – OlympAfrica delivered a dominant performance to secure a comfortable 28–3 victory over RESCorp in the Tinkhundla Under-18 Netball Talent Search final, walking away with the championship title and a cash prize of E8 500.
From the opening whistle, OlympAfrica set the tone with sharp passing, strong defensive organisation and accurate shooting that left RESCorp struggling to find momentum. Their early control of the game quickly widened the score gap, reflecting their confidence and teamwork throughout the match.
RESCorp attempted to respond with resilience, but OlympAfrica’s structured defence and fast transitions repeatedly shut down their attacking efforts. By halftime, the match had already tilted heavily in favour of OlympAfrica, who maintained their intensity until the final whistle.
The final score of 28–3 highlighted OlympAfrica’s dominance and consistency, as they executed their game plan with discipline and determination.
Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima, presented the trophy and prize money, commending both teams for their participation and sportsmanship. He praised the tournament for continuing to nurture young talent and provide opportunities for development at grassroots level.
Despite the defeat, RESCorp earned respect for reaching the final and competing with determination against a strong opponent.
The tournament also highlighted outstanding individual performances, reinforcing the importance of youth sport in shaping future national athletes.
OlympAfrica’s victory marks a proud moment for the team, as they not only lifted the trophy but also demonstrated the strength of structured training, teamwork and dedication in youth netball development.
