MBABANE – A proud moment for Eswatini football unfolded at Sigwaca House as Ubombo Sugar FC Management Committee Chairman Gina Ndwandwe was honoured after finishing among the top two performers in the prestigious FIFA Club Management Diploma programme, earning a fully sponsored trip to Miami in the United States of America.
The achievement was celebrated during a press conference hosted by the Eswatini Football Association, where officials revealed that Ndwandwe stood out among participants from 14 African countries who took part in the professional football management course.
Ndwandwe, who represented Ubombo Sugar FC, completed the programme alongside representatives from all 16 MTN Premier League clubs in Eswatini. The intensive classes were conducted over several months at Sibane Sami Hotel and focused on modern football club administration, leadership, and management.
As part of his outstanding performance, Ndwandwe will travel to Miami, where he will officially graduate with his FIFA Club Management Diploma and also watch part of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking during the press conference, Ndwandwe expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying he was honoured to represent both Eswatini and the COSAFA region on the international stage.
He admitted that when the programme started, he did not realise he would be competing against participants from across the continent, making the achievement even more meaningful.
Ndwandwe further stated that the experience and knowledge gained from the programme would contribute greatly to the growth and professional development of football in Eswatini. He also thanked Ubombo Sugar Limited, football supporters, and everyone who supported his journey throughout the course.
The football administrator’s trip will be fully sponsored by FIFA, covering flights and all related travel expenses, while the Eswatini Football Association will assist him with visa arrangements and passport documentation ahead of the trip.

To conclude the event, the Eswatini Football Association presented Ndwandwe with both the home and away replicas of the Sihlangu Semnikati jersey in recognition of his achievement.
The accomplishment marks a historic moment for both Ndwandwe and Ubombo Sugar FC, with many in local football describing the recognition as a major boost for football administration and leadership development in Eswatini.
