MBABANE – The Royal Legends Netball Team received special recognition from National Commissioner of Police, Mr. Manoma Vusie Masango, following their impressive championship win at an international tournament held in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, South Africa.
The team paid a courtesy call on the National Commissioner at his invitation after returning home as champions from the prestigious regional tournament, which featured eight teams from across the SADC region.
As stated on the Royal Eswatini Police Service official social media page, Commissioner Masango congratulated the players and technical team for representing Eswatini with pride and excellence on the international stage. He described the victory as a major achievement not only for the Royal Eswatini Police Service but also for the country as a whole.
Masango encouraged the players to remain disciplined, focused, and committed as they prepare for their next challenge in Johannesburg, South Africa, where they are expected to defend their title against strong regional competition.
He further praised the team for displaying determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, saying their success continues to inspire young athletes within the police service and across the nation.
Leading the delegation during the courtesy visit was Deputy National Commissioner of Police, Ms. Simangele Motsa, who commended the team for their hard work and dedication. She highlighted the importance of sports in promoting unity, discipline, and healthy lifestyles within communities.
The Khayelitsha tournament brought together top netball teams from the Southern African region in a highly competitive showcase of talent. Royal Legends emerged victorious after delivering strong performances throughout the competition.
The team’s success has since attracted praise from supporters and members of the public, with many celebrating the achievement as another proud moment for Eswatini sport.
