MBABANE – The Eswatini National Provident Fund has issued a warning about a recruitment scam.
According to a public notice issued by the ENPF management, a scammer is supposedly contacting unsuspecting individuals claiming to facilitate recruitment or employment processes and thereby seeking payment.
“It has come to our attention that a scammer, posing as a ‘Mrs. Dlamini,’ is contacting individuals via telephone, claiming to facilitate recruitment or employment processes. This individual is soliciting payments from unsuspecting members of the public under the guise of fees for employment poop forms or other recruitment-related documentation,” reads the notice.
The ENPF cautions Emaswati to take note that the Fund does not charge any fees for job applications, recruitment forms, or processing employment documentation. Any demand for payment in exchange for a job or forms is fraudulent.
“Our recruitment processes are transparent and conducted through official channels only. We do not contact candidates to request money via telephone. Reports have identified the scammer using the mobile number 78647411. Please exercise extreme caution if you are contacted by this number.”
The Fund advices members of the public that if they receive such a call, they should not send any money and do not share any personal or banking information.
If you are contacted by anyone requesting payment for ENPF recruitment or documentation, or if they wish to verify the legitimacy of any communication purportedly from the Fund, the public is urged not to engage with the caller.
Instead, they are to report the activity to the nearest police station immediately or dial 999.
Verify the information by contacting the Fund’s Communications Unit directly at 79021121 or 79021127.
According to the statement, the ENPF will not be held liable for any loss or damage resulting from these criminal activities. ENPF strongly urge the public to remain vigilant and help spread this warning to protect others from falling victim to this scam.
