KWALUSENI – Inyatsi Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Inyatsi Group Holdings, on Tuesday joined the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office in extending support to 75-year-old Gogo Manoma Sihlongonyane of Kwaluseni Chiefdom under Matsanjeni South who is caring for nine grandchildren while living in a dilapidated house with one of her children.
The visit formed part of ongoing interventions led by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office following a recent visit by Deputy Prime Minister Senator Thulisile Dladla to the elderly woman’s homestead, where the difficult living conditions of the family were brought to light.
During the visit, officials from the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office together with representatives from Inyatsi Foundation donated food parcels to the family as immediate relief while plans for the construction of a new house continue.
Speaking during the handover, the Director of National Children Services Department in the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, Nomcebo Nkomo said the visit was aimed at fulfilling the commitment made during the Deputy Prime Minister’s recent visit to the homestead.
The director assured Gogo Sihlongonyane that government remained committed to improving her living conditions and confirmed that construction of her new house would proceed.
“After the Deputy Prime Minister visited this home and saw the conditions the family is living under, it was important for us to return and continue offering support. We are here today with Inyatsi Foundation to donate food parcels, and we would also like to reassure Gogo that her house will indeed be constructed,” said Nkomo.
Representing Inyatsi Foundation, Bongekile Dlamini said the assistance was in line with the vision and directive of Inyatsi Group Holdings Executive Chairman Mr. Michelo Shakantu, who continues to encourage the company and its foundation to remain visible in communities and support emaSwati.
“This kind of support is a direct call from our Executive Chairman Mr. Michelo Shakantu, who has consistently emphasized that as Inyatsi Group Holdings, we must continue showing visibility in communities and support emaSwati,” said Dlamini.
She added that the company’s support initiatives were aligned with His Majesty King Mswati III’s call for the private sector to play a meaningful role in uplifting and assisting emaSwati across the country.
The Matsanjeni South Member of Parliament Sabelo Ndlangamandla also welcomed the intervention, describing it as a positive and important beginning in changing the life of the elderly woman and her family.
“This is a very great start towards helping Gogo and her family. We are grateful to the Deputy Prime Minister Senator Thulisile Dladla and His Majesty who gave us her as a nation. We are also thankful to Inyatsi Foundation for coming through and supporting this initiative,” said the MP.
He further described Inyatsi as a dependable corporate partner that continues to contribute meaningfully towards national development and community welfare in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
Meanwhile, an emotional Gogo Manoma Sihlongonyane expressed gratitude to both the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office and Inyatsi Foundation for the support extended to her family.
She applauded Inyatsi Foundation for travelling to her homestead to assist her and said the support had restored hope to her family.
“I am very grateful to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office and the Deputy Prime Minister herself for coming to see me and assuring me that by the end of July I will be sleeping in a proper house,” she said.
The elderly woman further thanked Inyatsi Foundation for the food donation and for standing with her family during a difficult period.
