NHLANGANO — The Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) has taken its member education campaign directly into workplaces in Nhlangano, engaging employers and employees on savings, benefits, contributions and other issues affecting their relationship with the Fund.
The engagements formed part of the Catsatsa! Sikuwe Member Engagement Roadshow, led by ENPF Chief Executive Officer Futhi Tembe together with the Fund’s executive and management team.
The roadshow reached employees at Zheng Yong Factory, Montigny Investments and FTM, creating an opportunity for workers to raise questions directly with the institution responsible for managing their savings.
Rather than relying solely on conventional communication channels, the initiative placed ENPF officials directly in workplaces where members could discuss their individual concerns and seek clarification on their benefits.
Among the issues discussed were contributions, members’ interest, Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, claims, benefits, Ingungu voluntary supplementary savings, Sizumbulu lump-sum savings and Siphephelo free funeral cover.
Employers also used the engagements to raise concerns around compliance, member education and communication between the Fund and their workforces.
Tembe said the direct interaction was central to the Fund’s approach of putting members first.
“Catsatsa! Sikuwe is not about speaking at our members. It is about speaking with them. We want members to ask difficult questions, understand their benefits and know what is happening with their savings. Putting members first means being accessible and accountable to them,” she said.
The workplace engagements also provided an opportunity for ENPF to discuss the performance of members’ savings.
Meanwhile, for the financial year ended June 2025, the Fund declared 10% members’ interest, compared with 8.65% in 2024 and 6.5% in 2023.

Tembe said the return came with a responsibility to manage members’ money prudently and create sustainable value for workers.
“This is their money, earned through their work and saved for their future. Our job is to manage it responsibly, protect it and create sustainable value for members,” she said.
The Fund’s digital platforms were also discussed, with employers welcoming the growing digital footprint of ENPF, including #MyENPF.
The employers said digital platforms offered members a convenient way to access information, while face-to-face engagements remained important for workers who required direct explanations or assistance.
ENPF General Manager Operations Vusi Ngcamphalala used the engagements to explain the implications of the Fund’s proposed conversion from a provident fund into a pension arrangement.
He encouraged members to consider voluntary supplementary contributions as a way of strengthening their eventual retirement position, while explaining the difference between the existing lump-sum arrangement and the proposed pension model aimed at providing income in retirement.
Ngcamphalala also stressed the importance of continuous contributions and KYC compliance.
“Members must take ownership of their information and their savings. KYC is not simply a compliance exercise; it is about making sure that when a member needs the Fund, we have the correct information to serve them,” he said.
The roadshow also promoted the Imbube Marathon, with members informed that the eighth edition will take place on October 17, 2026 at Somhlolo National Stadium.
The event will feature a 42.2km marathon, 21.1km half marathon, 10km race and 3.3km fun run, while continuing to promote sport, wellness and tourism.
Popular personalities Gogo and Silwane also participated in the activation, bringing an entertainment element to the financial education and member interaction programme.
The Nhlangano engagements reinforced ENPF’s broader objective of bringing its services closer to members and ensuring that workers understand how their contributions, savings and benefits connect to their long-term financial future.
