ESWATINI OFFICIALS APPOINTED TO COSAFA STANDING COMMITTEES FOR 2026–2029

MBABANE – Eswatini football officials have secured key positions on the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) standing committees for the 2026–2029 period, strengthening the country’s representation in regional football governance.

According to an announcement published by COSAFA on October 9, 2026, several Eswatini representatives have been appointed to committees responsible for important areas of football administration, including medical affairs, governance, ethics, finance, and technical development.

Among the appointments, Eswatini Football Association (EFA) President Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane has been named Chairperson of the Medical Committee, while Masotja Vilakati will chair the Governance and Compliance Committee.

Siphosini Dlamini has been appointed Chairperson of the Ethics Committee, placing him in a key position within a structure concerned with ethical standards and conduct in regional football.

Meanwhile, Sicelo Mkhota has been appointed as a member of the Finance Committee, while Aaron Mavimbela will serve on the Technical and Development Committee.

The appointments provide Eswatini with representation across several important areas of COSAFA’s administrative and developmental work for the new committee term.

The Medical Committee deals with matters relating to the medical aspects of football, while the Governance and Compliance Committee focuses on governance standards and compliance within the regional football structure.

The Ethics Committee is concerned with ethical conduct, while the Finance Committee contributes to financial oversight. The Technical and Development Committee focuses on football development and technical matters.

The appointments reflect the participation of Eswatini football officials in regional structures that help guide the administration and development of the game across Southern Africa.

COSAFA is the regional football governing body responsible for coordinating football activities among its member associations in Southern Africa. Its standing committees support different aspects of the organisation’s responsibilities and operations.
