MANZINI – There comes a point when being hurt, feeling unwanted and constantly giving without receiving enough in return becomes too much to bear. For Luyanda Sbuso Myeni, known musically as Bubuh De Vocalist, that breaking point has found its way into her latest single, Angisakhoni.
The song explores the emotional exhaustion that comes with feeling unloved and undervalued. Its title, which expresses the feeling of no longer being able to endure a situation, reflects the experiences Bubuh wanted to capture through her own words.
Unlike artists who rely on others to write their material, Bubuh says she penned the lyrics herself, drawing on the emotions behind the song. King Kanga handled the mixing and mastering, continuing his role in the production of her music. The single is accompanied by a visualiser, giving listeners a visual experience alongside the song. It is available on YouTube.
Bubuh’s latest release follows a journey that began with Ungowami, a 2024 single produced by King Kanga. The positive feedback she received for that song encouraged her to continue pursuing music, which she describes as an inseparable part of her life.
She has also worked with other artists, including King Bazozo on Wena, while her collaboration with Cool G and Blxck on Ngifuna Wena introduced her to more listeners. Dmxo Mxo Swaziland is among the established names who have appeared on her music.
Bubuh credits South African singer Amanda Black as one of the artists whose music inspired her to keep going. Looking ahead, she hopes to collaborate with South African artist Atchaar, Apex The Vocalist and Cool Drop. She also dreams of performing on Upscale Live, regularly tagging the platform in her TikTok posts in the hope of getting an opportunity.
For now, Angisakhoni puts her songwriting and personal expression at the centre of her work. For Bubuh, the message to other upcoming artists is to trust their own abilities. “You can achieve your goals when you want to. It’s in you, not in anyone. Believe in yourself. Yes, you can,” she said.
