MOTSHANE – A routine fuel stop has turned into a life-changing moment for 23-year-old Sifiso Ndwandwe of Ezulwini, who drove away with a brand-new Suzuki Celerio 1.0 GL MT worth E250 000 after winning the TotalEnergies Win a Car competition.
Ndwandwe’s winning entry was generated when he refuelled at TotalEnergies Ezulwini in April, eventually earning him the competition’s grand prize. His victory was announced during a prize-giving ceremony at Motshane TotalEnergies filling station yesterday, where staff, stakeholders and community members gathered to celebrate the winners and mark the conclusion of the campaign.

For the young winner, an ordinary transaction at a filling station became an extraordinary reward, demonstrating how the promotion turned customers’ everyday fuel purchases into an opportunity to win valuable prizes.
The competition also recognised two other customers for their participation. Thulani Mabundza secured second place, receiving fuel worth E6 000 on a TotalEnergies card, while Nick van Rensburg walked away with a E3 000 grocery voucher redeemable at Spar, Pick n Pay or OK Foods.

The campaign ran from July 1 to September 30, inviting customers to enter the draw by spending E500 or more on fuel at any TotalEnergies service station.
Speaking during the handover, TotalEnergies Business and Support Manager Phetsile Dlamini welcomed the public’s response, saying the company was pleased that customers had embraced the initiative and shown interest in participating.
“We are pleased that people have taken this initiative seriously,” Dlamini said.
She explained that the promotion had initially been introduced in January but was temporarily put on hold because of unforeseen circumstances before resuming in July.
Dlamini said the company was pleased that the campaign had reached its prize-giving stage, providing an opportunity to recognise and reward customers who continued supporting its service stations.
She emphasised that the competition formed part of TotalEnergies’ commitment to appreciating its customers and strengthening their relationship with the brand.
“At TotalEnergies, it is our mandate to take care of our customers,” she said, adding that the prizes were intended to demonstrate appreciation for their continued loyalty.
Looking ahead, Dlamini expressed hope that the competition would return next year, potentially giving more customers an opportunity to participate and win.
The ceremony at Motshane marked the end of a campaign that rewarded three customers, with prizes ranging from groceries and fuel to a vehicle worth E250 000.
However, the day belonged to Ndwandwe, whose winning entry transformed a fuel purchase into the keys to a brand-new car.
At just 23, the Ezulwini resident now has a memorable story to tell: how stopping to refuel became the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
