ANGOLA COACH LAZARE ADINGONO TO LEAD FIBA TRAINING COURSE

MBABANE– The Basketball Association of Eswatini (BASE) is taking basketball development to a new level by bringing in Coach Lazare Adingono, a globally respected instructor, to lead the WABC Level 1 FIBA Certification Course from 8–12 October 2025.

Held in partnership with FIBA and the EOCGA, the course will see 15 local coaches benefit from Adingono’s vast international experience and modern coaching methods.

Coach Adingono is celebrated for his strategic approach, leadership excellence, and proven ability to build winning teams across borders. His presence in Eswatini symbolizes more than training it represents a knowledge exchange with global impact.

“Coach Adingono brings international expertise that will elevate how we coach and play basketball in Eswatini,” said Motsa.  “He’s here to share world-level insights that will help our coaches think and train like professionals.”

About Coach Lazare Adingono

Born on 11 January 1978 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Lazare Adingono (also known as Lazare Adie Ngono) is a Cameroonian-American basketball professional with experience as both a player and coach. He played college basketball for the University of Rhode Island Rams from 1999–2003, serving as co-captain in his senior year, and later professionally in Mexico. Adingono also represented Cameroon at the national level during his playing career.

Transitioning to coaching in 2006, Adingono has held key positions including assistant coach at Canisius College (USA), head coach of Cameroon’s men’s national team, and head coach of top Angolan clubs Petro de Luanda and Primeiro de Agosto.

His leadership has delivered multiple Angolan League titles, Angolan Cups, and a FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup, earning him recognition as one of Africa’s most accomplished coaches. Known for tactical acumen, talent development, and team-building expertise, Adingono brings a wealth of knowledge that transcends borders.

Through this initiative, BASE reinforces its commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and aligning Eswatini’s basketball standards with international best practices — showing that the country is ready to learn, grow, and compete globally.
