ARSENAL OUT, PSG VS INTER MILAN IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL ON MAY 31, 2025

MBABANE – There will be no English Premier League side in the Champions League final after the elimination of Arsenal by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the semi-final on Wednesday evening.

The win saw the French Ligue 1 side, PSG setting a date against Italian (Seria A) side Inter Milan in the final to be played on (Saturday) May 31, 2025, kick-off 9pm. The final is set for Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

PSG booked their spot with a 3-1 aggregate win. They won the Wednesday game 2-1 while they were 1-0 victorious in the first leg played a week ago.

Inter Milan shocked Barcelona in the semi-final on Tuesday to also book a spot in the final. They won 4-3 after extra time with aggregate 7-6.

Both finalists were not favourites to reach this stage of the competition at the beginning of the tournament. Some of the favourites’ teams that were eliminated include Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich among others.

The Ligue I side, PSG have knocked out three English Premier League teams in Arsenal (semi-finals), Aston Villa (quarter-final) and Liverpool (Last 16 stage). The Premier League’s claim to be the world’s best ranked clubs in the world but PSG proved that wrong.

PSG under Luis Enrique’s were last in the Champions League final when losing the 2020 Covid final in Lisbon with Inter Milan in 2023.
