MBABANE – It was a sensational performance by athlete Mayibongwe Vilakati as he won the 1 500m during the South Africa’s AGN League 2.
The competitions were held the Pilditch Stadium, Pretoria. Vilakati claimed the first spot on 3:59:60 minutes. Coming second was Mbesa Samkela from South Africa who finished on 4:00:32 minutes and third was Tshepang Tshivula on 4:03:72 minutes.
There were nine athletes competing in the event only Vilakati an international athletes while the rest were from South Africa.
The results were confirmed by the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (SOCGA) on Monday.
“A fantastic beginning to the 2025 season for Mayibongwe Vilakati in the AGN League 2, taking place at Pilditch Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa. His remarkable consistency in performance is truly noteworthy,” reads the statement.
