BABES WODUMO FOR PIGG’S PEAK MAGAZINE SPRING FESTIVAL

PIGG’S PEAK – Renowned South African artists Gatsheni and Babes Wodumo will headline the first edition of Magazine Spring Festival on August 31, 2024, at Pigg’s Peak Killarney Sports Ground.

This was confirmed by Big G Entertainment Communications Officer Nonjabuliso Shiba yesterday (July 22, 2024) in an exclusive interview. The festival is set to kick off at 6 p.m. until late.

‘Gatsheni’ whose real name is Mlungisi Ndlovu is expected to unleash some of his hits including ‘Hit after Hit’ and ‘Emendweni’ while Babes Wodumo, real name Bongekile Simelane is expected to perform some her songs including ‘Wololo’ and ‘Ungani wami’.

She said, “Big G Entertainment is bringing the people of Eswatini a day of music, delicious food, and a community atmosphere. For now, we have two confirmed international acts; Gatsheni and Babes Wodumo. I cannot disclose other ones since they haven’t been confirmed yet.”

The festival promises to be an inclusive celebration of creativity, welcoming all genres and talents to showcase their skills to the local community. EmaSwati, both established and emerging artists alike, are invited to participate in this vibrant celebration of our culture and artistry.

The event will also feature performances by renowned local musicians, including Phathwakahle, Bholoja, and M Nation, setting the stage on fire with the local music scene.

It is worth noting that there will also be a local line-up of DJs including DJ MBO, Sbu de Drum DJ, Wassabee, Obsession, K Master, DJ Tracksoul, President, MaWillies, Baba, Eskay, Itsallblaq, DJ Sleeq, DJ Expo, and DJ Nibs, who will be on decks releasing sensational beats.

Shiba has promised a delightful night for attendees of the festival.

“Magazine Spring Festival will cater to all age groups. There will be a section for kids’ games and activities to ensure that no one is left behind. There will be food vendors who will be serving delectable meals, from fast food to seafood platters. We will also have a section for arts and culture where people will showcase their art pieces, but to do that, they would have to apply for a stand,” she said.

Tickets are available at Computicket and Taste of Taste Butchery, Pigg’s Peak, Pholane Bar Pigg’s Peak, Ecembeni Lifestyle, Shisanyama Nkomazi, and Buhleni Green Grocery.

Early bird tickets are going for E100, phase 1 E150, and phase 2 E200. VIP phase 1 (E250), phase 2 (E350), and kids are to pay E30. Kids under five years enter for free.
