MBABANE – Eswatini swimmers continue to shine in the on-going XX Africa Aquatic Zone IV Swimming and Open Water Championships in Windhoek, Namibia.
Swim Lab Swimming Club swimmer Luca Fraser added a bronze medal in the 200m breaststroke, having won a gold medal in the 50m breaststroke.
Another achievement was by Hayley Hoy who broke her 200m backstroke Girls 15-17 years under the new age group records. She clocked 2:42:69 minutes while the previous time was 2:44:61 seconds she clocked during the CANA Zone IV Games in May 2023.
This was during the day two of the event that will come to end on Sunday. The country is represented by 18 swimmers. The country had won four medals in the competitions were hey are against swimmers from 14 countries. Others who have won medals include Hayley Hoy and Chadd Ning.
Meanwhile, Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) congratulated swimmers who recorded their first long course times. They are Daniella Nunes, Simphiwe Dlamini, Aimee Willmott, Simanga Dlamini, Tsailin Barbosa, Bahlelelwe Simelane and Nosimilo Dlamini.
Some swimmers were congradulated for achiving the new long course personal best. They are Hayley Hoy, Kenrda Mc Namara, Luca Fraser and Pedro De Sousa.
