MBABANE – The highly anticipated derby between Young Buffaloes and Royal Leopard will commence the Ingwenyama Cup semi-finals on Monday at Mavuso Sports Centre.
The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00pm followed by the second semi-final featuring Mbabane Swallows against Moneni Pirates at 4:30pm. These fixtures were announced by the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Football Manager, Banele Masondo.
Supporters will be required to pay E50 to witness this thrilling double-header. The victors of these two matches will advance to the finals, competing for a prize of E1.450 million, while the runners-up will receive E650 000.
The last two encounters between Young Buffaloes and Royal Leopard ended in draws. Their most recent match took place on November 23, 2024, in the MTN Premier League, concluding with a 1-1 stalemate. Should this match also end in a draw after regular time, extra time will be played, and if necessary, a penalty shootout will determine the winner.
In another notable matchup, the last time Mbabane Swallows faced Moneni Pirates, the latter emerged victorious with a score of 1-0 on October 26, 2024, also in the MTN Premier League.
Additionally, the fixtures for the Ingwenyama Cup Women’s football tournament will be announced at a later date.
