MBABANE – Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala has officially swore in four newly appointed members of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
The new commissioners are Qhakazile Dlamini, Charity Simelane, Mfanzile Dlamini, and Justice Nxumalo.
Their appointments were made earlier this month by His Majesty King Mswati III, demonstrating the King’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Eswatini’s judicial system and upholding the rule of law. The swearing-in marks the official commencement of their responsibilities as custodians of integrity and professionalism within the judiciary.
The Judicial Service Commission plays a critical role in the administration of justice in Eswatini. Its mandate includes advising the King on judicial appointments, promotions, and disciplinary matters concerning judges and magistrates. The Commission also ensures that judicial officers maintain high standards of ethics and conduct, thereby safeguarding the independence and impartiality of the judiciary.
Chief Justice Maphalala expressed confidence in the newly sworn-in members, noting their diverse expertise and dedication to justice. “Their service on the Commission will greatly enhance our efforts to promote transparency, fairness, and the rule of law in Eswatini,” he said.
With the new appointments, the JSC is well-positioned to continue its vital work in ensuring that the country’s judiciary remains a pillar of democratic governance and public trust.
