MBABANE- DJ Obsession takes on Mozambique stage!
Eswatini’s rising star, DJ Obsession born Thabiso Ndwandwe, is taking his talent to new heights as he prepares to headline the Balcony Mix in Matola, Mozambique, on July 5, 2025. Known for his electric sets and smooth blends, Obsession is making waves far beyond the borders of his home country—solidifying his spot as one of southern Africa’s most exciting DJs to watch.
In an exclusive chat, the turntable maestro shared his excitement about the international spotlight. “Well, am looking forward to the Balcony Experience in Mozambique. Fun lovers in Mozambique should come through for an exclusive experience with Obsession. My set will include the latest unreleased Afro house / 3 step music for the year 2025. My fans should expect a night of good music and exclusive music.”
The DJ shares that it will not be his first time performing in that country, “It’s not my first time. I have been playing in Mozambique since 2017 till present. My last event in Mozambique was in September last year at Melia Sky Hotel Balcony Hosted by Nelson John one of the biggest promoters in Mozambique.”
DJ Obsession says the bond with Mozambican fans is only getting stronger.
“Mozambique has become my second home. The love is growing that side. I am so grateful.”
But while the opportunity is thrilling, he’s also aware of the challenge. “Performing internationally comes with a lot of pressure. The international stage exposes you to a different crowd that is not familiar with your craft. You have to impress definitely.”
Hailing from a small country with a modest population, Obsession has had to work even harder to break into larger markets. “Locally, we have a limited audience as Eswatini is a very tiny kingdom with a very low population,” he noted. Still, he remains confident and focused. Fans can expect a high-energy performance filled with authentic Eswatini flavour.
“I’ll definitely pull up my A-game as always. As talented as Swazi DJs are, I’ll make sure I give them a taste of Eswatini talent.”
With Balcony Mix promising to be a highlight on the southern African entertainment calendar, all eyes will be on DJ Obsession as he brings his unique sound and magnetic presence to the international stage. One thing’s for sure—Mozambique is in for a show to remember.
