MBABANE – Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development Sikhumbuzo Dlamini is of the view that Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla needs support for the work that she does.

Dlamini said this yesterday (Thursday, October 10, 2024) when Dladla handed a house to a child-headed Bhembe family at Sitandini in Hlathikhulu, under Nkwene Constituency. The house consists of two bedrooms and one bathroom.

The eight-member family had been living under a one-roomed stick-and-mud house and their lives were difficult under those circumstances. Members of the community helped in building the house for the family.

Dlamini said it was important for Emaswati to support the work that was done by the DPM and her team. He said the work done by Dladla needed support from all sectors of the country. The minister, who is also a Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkwene Constituency, promised to donate something to the family. “I promise that in a few days to come, I will buy a bed for the members of the family so that they can be able to make use of it,” Dlamini said.

Dladla expressed joy that the family would now be able to live a better life. She said they were sent by Their Majesties to ensure that vulnerable people were taken care of so that they could also enjoy life, like everyone else. The DPM encouraged the family members to consider caring for domestic animals such as indigenous chickens, which could help them make income to survive.

She also stated that they would provide a few goats so that they could multiply under their care, as these animals could also help them to make an income. Nkosingiphile Bhembe, who is one of the persons with disabilities and heads the family, thanked his MP, the DPM and all those who made the construction a possibility.

The DPM proceeded to Zombodze Emuva Constituency, where she handed over a house to a Sihlongonyane family, which is headed by a 15-year-old girl. She also went to went to Matsanjeni South Constituency, where she donated a house to an elderly woman known as Zile Ndzimandze.
