MBABANE – Eswatini’s rising musical sensation Drax 404 has dropped his latest single titled “Emahem’hem”, featuring Apex the Vocalist and BLK Skunk. The track, officially released on October 17, 2025, is already creating buzz for its relatable message and rich Swati traditional sound.
Born Thando Motsa and raised in Msunduza, Mbabane, Drax 404’s musical journey began after his first passion—soccer—was cut short due to injuries and medical reasons. “I’ve always been a music fan since childhood,” he shared. “But after football didn’t work out, I fell completely into music. I’m versatile; I don’t have one genre—I let the music guide me depending on my mood.”
The new single “Emahem’hem” tells a heartfelt story of two brothers who grew up together but later drifted apart as life placed them on different paths. “It’s the soundtrack to many of our lives,” Drax 404 explained. “It narrates how one brother begins to mistreat and speak ill of the other once success comes into play.”
The song introduces listeners to Umzwilili, a traditional Swati genre that Emadlelweni Music is currently pioneering and popularizing through modern productions. Drax 404 describes this sound as deeply cultural yet fresh, merging Swati roots with a modern twist.
“For me, personal experiences are always the best source of inspiration when making music,” he added. “It allows me to write authentically and connect with emotions that only lived experiences can truly express.”
Despite his creative talent, Drax 404 acknowledges that music distribution remains one of his biggest challenges. “Making the music is the easy part,” he said. “The difficult part is getting it to the people, packaging it properly, and making sure it’s monetized. There’s so much music ready, but it needs a good strategy before release. Still, I make sure fans don’t go too long without new music.”
Currently, the visualizer for “Emahem’hem” is available on YouTube, and the single will soon be out on all major digital platforms. The official cover art will also be revealed once the song drops on streaming services.
