MBABANE – As it is one of the biggest football matches in the country, football fans will pay E50 to watch the Mbabane derby between rivals, Mbabane Highlander and Mbabane Swallows.
The game under the MTN Premier League match seven is billed for Sunday (November 10, 2024) at Mavuso Sports Centre, kick-off 3pm. The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) described the game as a celebration of the sports which is football and the city, Mbabane.
The ticket for the game would be available 72 to hours before the game which is means by Friday they will be up for sale. The PLE encouraged supporters to but the ticket in advance as there won’t be any available ticket at the venue.
Tickets are sold in MTN Service Centers, Etop-Up some stores and Engen Garages among others places all over the country.
“The Mbabane derby has always been one of the most thrilling fixtures in Eswatini football, wish such a strong rivalry between Mbabane Swallows and Mbabane Highlanders. The atmosphere is electric; it’s one of those games where fans fill the stadium hours before kick-off, creating a sea of red and black.
But what really make the derby unforgettable are the fans, the passion, singing and sometimes the tension. It’s not just a match, its celebration of the sport and the city,” reads a post from the PLE.
Mbabane Highlanders will go to the match motivated despite their administration struggling after the shocking 2-1 victory over Young Buffaloes on Wednesday. The win saw them move to the middle of the table.
Meanwhile, Mbabane Swallows are top of the table as they battle to defend the title they won last season. They have 15 points after losing one match from the six they have played so far. They lost 0-1 to Moneni Pirates.
The PLE and the teams charge E30 for a single header and E50 for a double header, but for the derby, they decided to go for E50 as it is the biggest match in the country.
