Today, we shine a spotlight on Samkelo Vusi Dlamini, our Entrepreneur of the Day, the visionary Founder and Director of Creature of Habit Investments.
“When I started this journey in 2019, it honestly seemed impossible, but I knew I had a God-given gift, and here I am today.” Dlamini said.
He emphasises the drive required in a competitive field like fashion, he said one needs to keep up with trends and have a strong marketing strategy.
“I did all of this alone, fueled by a burning passion and my faith as my shield. Today, I have transformed from a clothing brand into a thriving clothing company.” He said.
Dlamini highlighted the crucial role of internal drive, “Passion is the fuel for any entrepreneur. It’s what keeps you going when things get tough. It’s the fire inside that turns challenges into opportunities,” he said.
He expressed his gratitude for the community’s support, saying, “The support people are showing is so encouraging as a young man. People are buying my products, and my target is everyone, because we are all creatures of habit.” Dlamini said.
The significance of their logo, particularly the Eagle, resonates deeply with their customers. “People understand very well how it does things—it never fails,” Dlamini explained.
His achievements at the Eswatini Clothing Brands Awards (ECBA) are a testament to his dedication. “I won seven awards in my first appearance and five in my second. That’s historical in the industry and at ECBA. That’s when I decided to register, so we can move with the big guns,” he proudly recounted.
Dlamini extends an invitation to businesses, urging companies to trust them for their uniform needs. “We are passionate about quality, not quantity,” he asserted. He praises his manager, Yoliswa Dludlu, for her dedication to sourcing the best materials and ensuring timely deliveries, highlighting their commitment to crafting everything from scratch with their “number one tailor in the country.”
Addressing challenges, Dlamini stated that, “We always face them with a smile, as we always have a plan to rise above and make everything work for good. And we have a plan to stay in the competition. But without the passion, those plans wouldn’t mean anything.” he said.
Giving Back to the Community
Beyond his business success, Dlamini is deeply committed to giving back to the community. He regularly donates clothing and other necessities to local charities and individuals in need. “For me, success is not just about building a company, it’s about making a positive impact on the lives of others. Giving back is a way of fulfilling my purpose and showing gratitude for the support I’ve received.” Dlamini said.
