EOCGA CEO MAXWELL JELE MEETS NAMIBIA’S LADY PRESIDENT NETUMBO NANDI-NDAITWAH

MBABANE – The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA), Maxwell Jele, recently had the honour of meeting Namibia’s Lady President, Her Excellency Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

Jele, who also serves as the Secretary General of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), was part of a distinguished delegation accompanying the newly elected International Olympic Committee (IOC) President, Zimbabwe’s Kirsty Coventry, to the State House in Windhoek, Namibia.

The duo of former sprinters in Sibusiso ‘Swazi Bolt’ Matsenjwa and Phumlile Ndzinisa were also part of the delegation and they were able to meet with IOC President Kirsty Coventry.

This significant meeting occurred on the sidelines of the 5th African Athletes Forum, which took place in Windhoek from April 5th to 6th, 2025 (Saturday and Sunday).

“The delegation comprised notable figures, including the 1st Vice President of ANOCA, the Honourable Minister of Sports in Namibia, the Director of Sports, the President of the Namibia NOC, the Chairperson of the ANOCA Athletes Commission, and the President of the Kenya NOC, who is also an IOC Member,” reads a statement from EOCGA.

Jele is in Namibia for the Athletes Forum, aiming to foster collaboration and development in athletics across the continent.

Notably, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is Namibia’s first female president, having been sworn in just last month.
